Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Hollywood Walk of Fame runs 1.3 miles (2.1 km) east to west on Hollywood Boulevard. When visiting California, it was on my list of things to do while there. It is probably one of the most visited attractions. Remember though, it is a long hot walk so you will want to bring water and most of all sunscreen.

It was an amazing feeling as I followed the stars along the boulevard, recognizing the names as I walked. Now remember this is a big attraction, so there will be crowds of people. At times you will have to wait for people to go by so you can grab a nice shot.

There are 5 symbols, that you will see from the pictures below, that you will see on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Stars.

The first set of Stars represent where Hollywood began for me as a young child. Every Sunday night we would put on The Wonderful World of Disney as it was called back then. Cartoons, family movies and special events made it all worthwhile and I still watch Disney shows today, on my own and with my daughter. Timeless classics.

While following the stars on your walk, you may want to look up and around, there are so many other things to see, and you never know, you just might see a star.

Hollywood Blvd is your typical busy street. There are shops, restaurants, bars and tons of people, checking out the Stars, just like you. Is it clean and safe? My answer would be “is any neighborhood, really?” Keep you wallets close and expect to be constantly asked to go on a tour of some sort.

Phonograph Record represents audio recording or music
Radio Microphone represents broadcast radio

I haven’t seen The CDN walk in a long time. We are thinking of going downtown soon to see it and take pictures, now that the weather is starting to get warmer. It will be interesting to see if the Canadians on Hollywood walk of Fame are on the Canadian walk.

I remember walking some of the Hollywood Walk of Fame years ago with my family. It was so cool! I’d love to go again soon. It’s very fun to see the stars of your favourite actors and singers.

  3. What a fun experience! I’ve only been to California once but didn’t get the chance to check out the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I think this will have to be one of my musts next time I’m there!

Oh, that’s really cool about the symbols on each star. I didn’t realise that the stars were customized to describe which industry the star worked in. I’ve never been to California, though I’d love to go someday (preferably on a day that is *really* cold back here at home, LOL.) I’ve walked past the Canadian one at least once a week, but never really paid too much attention to it. Now I’m gonna have to check to see if they have the same system set up, heh. 😉
