When I was pregnant with my daughter, we decided to give her a name that was unique in the spelling, Madisen and not Madison. We didn’t really think about personalized gifts at the time, but once she was born and we wanted to get her something, we realized that anything with her name on it would have to be custom made, by myself or someone else.

When I was a child, I remember having the Night Before Christmas. When I opened it up and began reading, I realized it was personalized, my name was in the story. That was my favourite book as a child. I think I wore out the pages reading it all the time, even after Christmas was over.

Imagine the look on your child’s face when they begin to read, or you read a story to them and all of a sudden they hear their name and realize they are the star of the book. Well, I was able to see the joy in my daughter’s face when I read her Madisen’s Night Before Christmas, with a special Christmas message from mama, daddy and of course Santa Claus.

As I read the book to my daughter and she heard the names of some of her school friends and her cat Dusty, a smile came upon her face and she lit up with joy. She couldn’t believe what I was reading. This was her story with all her favourite people in it. She was so overjoyed that she would go to bed and have visions of sugar plumbs dancing in her head. In her words “this is the best book ever!!”

We have been measuring the growth of our daughter on the door frame in the kitchen, however, we live in an apartment and won’t be able to take the wall should we move. When I saw this growth chart, I knew it would be the perfect replacement. My daughter loves butterflies and she loves to see how much she has grown. We will transfer over the information onto the growth chart, so she will have these cherished memories of growing up, where ever she goes.

Every child loves to have their favourite character on their lunch pail to take to school. Each year we go shopping to find or replace the previous character. This personalized lunch pail will become a cherished keepsake on Christmas morning and every day after that. It holds are containers perfectly with a bit more space then her current one. Madisen will be able to use it for a few years.
