Yoga – Preparing For Your First Class

As many of you may know, I suffer from pain almost daily, in some part of my body. Just going to the store or standing at the stove cooking leaves me aching. So this week I am starting Yoga, in hopes of alleviating some of that pain.

I signed up through Parks and Rec for the City of Toronto. Not just one session but two. For the next two months I will head out one night a week for my class, then continuing in the New Year for my next session.

The only information I had about the class, was that I would need a mat and it is 5 minutes away. I couldn’t imagine sitting on the cold dirty floor. So I prepared myself a list.

How I am Preparing

  • planning a light dinner
  • non baggy clothes
  • pack a towel
  • bottle of water

Yoga

Goals

  • Strengthen and build muscles
  • Increase blood flow
  • Boost amunity
  • More energy
  • Release tension
  • Better sleep

These are my goals for the next four months. What would your goals be, if you started a class? Follow along with my journey to of achieving a pain free world with a clear mind.

Looking for something to do one or two days/nights through the week, why not sign up for programs in your city, check your local Parks and Rec, prices are reasonable. There is a variety of programs available for both children and adults.

On Saturdays I have my daughter signed up a sports package and swimming. I will also be doing Zumba, the day after my Yoga class. Somehow I believe I will be torturing my self for the next few weeks until I have adjusted to my new routine.

Have you taken Yoga classes? What were/are your goals?
