Rinse beef in strainer and place on cutting board to trim fat, cut large pieces into smaller ones.
In a large pot add some oil and heat at medium. add 1 chopped onion to the pot
While the oil is heating take about a cup of flour and place into a bowl. Take the pieces of beef and put into flour, coating each piece completely.
Place coated beef into the heated pot of oil to brown. Add beef stock and or water as needed. Once beef is browned, begin adding more stock and water. use leftover flour to thicken as you go along.
