Each year thousands of families head down to the Exhibition Place home of the CNE to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Canadian National Exhibition. Visiting each year is part of our Family Traditions.
Exhibition Place Home of the CNE – 2018 Highlights
This year we headed down to the CNE on the last weekend of The Ex. It started off a rainy day, but shortly after we entered the gates, the rain let up. We purchased our daughter a wristband so she could go on the rides all day. We didn’t plan on going on any rides but the Ferris Wheel.
I found that this year in Kiddies World there wasn’t as much as in the past few years, my daughter was looking forward to some but was happy with what was there.
We ventured over to the Food Building, it was time to eat and check out what was new and ended up sharing an order of BBQ Beef Nachos. After we ate we decided to check out the other buildings, ending up in Kiddie World again. After walking for a few hours, my feet and back were aching, we hopped on the CNE Express to our next destination.
Fairytales came to life walking through the Legends of the Silk Road display. The colours of the lanterns were bright and vivid and made for some great pictures. It was well worth the wait in line.
My husband and daughter never saw the ice show before. They were both totally amazed at the music and performance. Usually, when I go with friends, we hit up all the shows. When you go with kids, it’s all about them but since I wasn’t going another day, I dragged them along with me.
The Canadian International Air Show runs for 3 days during the CNE, making those very busy and crowded days. It is the highlight of the weekend. On Tuesday the planes flew over our apartment on the way to Pearson Airport.
Did you attend the CNE this year? What did you like the best?
The CNE may be done for this year, however, there is always something happening at Exhibition Place.
