Over the past few months, my husband has joined in on creating projects out of popsicle sticks. He has made numerous items for our daughter’s Barbies and he even created a guitar. Since fall is just around the corner and our daughter loves to decorate for all holidays, he decided to do some popsicle stick monsters for with our daughter.
Our daughter scares easy and sometimes will have nightmares. We have been trying to find fun things to do or create that will show her that these monsters are not real and will not seek her out to harm her. We are careful what TV shows we watch when she is up but we can’t control what kids will say or do to scare others, until after the fact.
Popsicle Stick Monsters
Depending on the width of the monsters you want will depend on the amount of popsicle stick you use.
Materials
- popsicle sticks
- glue
- paint
- google eyes
- string (optional) for hanger
Directions
Take your popsicle sticks and design the shape of your monster then glue them together. Allow the glue to dry before painting. Once the sticks are dry begin painting with the colour of your choice. Apply additional paint coats, allowing to dry between each coat.
When the painting of the project is complete, add on the eyes and draw in a mouth, scars or what ever you want. If you would like to hang up your monsters, add a bit of string on the back and you are finished.
We are slowly decorating for Halloween. It may be a bit early for some but our daughter is excited for some of our decor. She is slowly easing into the scary season and hopefully not scared.
I can’t wait for my pillow covers to come in from Amazon and add them to our yearly decorations that we use for Halloween

I am in LOVE with this craft! It is simple to do, and they come out so well. My kids will have so much fun making them. Thanks for sharing this craft idea!
