Victoria Day Weekend – Toronto Activities and Events – 2017

Victoria Day Weekend

It’s the start of Victoria Day weekend, the  “unofficially” kick off to the start of summer and all the fun and adventures it has to offer. As a child, my long weekends and every weekend throughout the summer was spent in Wasaga Beach, where we had a trailer. We experienced so much as children, camping, swimming and making memories. As a parent, I want the same for my child. While we don’t have a trailer to visit, we plan on making our own memories in everything we do. If you are … Continue reading

Local Tourists – Out n About in Toronto

Local Tourists

My family and I travel within the city of Toronto and check out the local attractions around town. Since I live here I can go anytime to seek new adventures in this BIG City. We are the local tourists making memories in a city we love. I am a mom so I do try to find kid-friendly adventures, usually starting at a park so my daughter can play on the swings and slides. The Local Tourists When our daughter small, we would sometimes travel along some of the Toronto Bicycle paths. … Continue reading

Canada Celebrates 150 Years – It’s All Canadian from Coast to Coast and In Between

Canada Celebrates 150 years

On July 1, 1867, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia entered into Confederation. That’s why we celebrate Canada’s anniversary each year on July 1st.  In July, 2017 Canada celebrates 150 years and to help celebrate, I am listing some random information about the country I live in. There are 10 provinces and 3 territories in Canada. Haunted Ontario – Spooked by Ghosts

Haunted-in-Ontario

Halloween is just around the corner, what would be more fun than checking out a real haunted house or building near you in Haunted Ontario spots. Have you ever seen a ghost or visited a place that is known to have ghosts or spirits? While I haven’t been to any spooky places, I have heard ghosts, whispering in the night, at a house that I was told had spirits. While I was a bit skeptical about sleeping in a house that possibly has some sort of spirit floating around, never … Continue reading

Haunted Walks Ottawa – Ghosts and Gallows – Carleton Jail

Haunted Walks - Carleton Jail

In April, I  was in Ottawa attending the BConnected Conference.  While the conference didn’t officially start until Saturday, a fun Friday was planned for those attendees who arrived on Friday. We had a choice of 2 different Haunted Walks, Ghosts and Gallows or Time Travel Trail Adventure with Ottawa Tourism. I choose to take the Ghosts and Gallows Walk that took us to the Carleton Jail. Although I had not been on a Haunted Walk, I have wanted to for some time. Excitement and nervousness took over. The wait for this creepy … Continue reading

Canadian National Exhibition – CNE Highlights – 2016

CNE Highlights

This year I visited the CNE twice. The first visit was with my husband and daughter as a birthday fun day. My second visit was with friends, a girls day out. Here are my favourite moments, my CNE Highlights. Before the CNE  was even open, we had purchased play all day passes. It would make for a less expensive visit. My daughter was excited to go on as many rides as she could. It doesn’t matter when you visit, there are always shots of the fountain. The meeting place should … Continue reading
