Summer Reading – 5 Science Books for Kids

Summer Reading

My daughter has decided that she wants to learn more about science. We will be venturing over to the library to choose some books for her summer reading. Science is a part of life and without it, I wouldn’t be able to write this post from a laptop. We love to learn about inventions and how things are made. We spend time watching fun science experiments on YouTube, so we can try them out ourselves. During the school year, my daughter took an interest in science. We attended the Science Rendevous … Continue reading

One day last week my daughter came home and asked me to be a volunteer on a school trip. I said yes, of course, I would. It has been a while since I went on a trip with the school. Then she continued the conversation about the trip and how she knows I don’t like snakes. Wait, Where are we going. She continued about how we would have the best time at the Reptilia Zoo. What was I getting myself into? I don’t like snakes, they creep me out and here … Continue reading

Berry Explosion Muffins

Berry Explosion Muffins

There is always a debate in my house on which flavour of muffins I should make. I always want blueberry and my daughter wants chocolate chip. Although she does like blueberries, she just doesn’t like them in muffins. I wanted to use the frozen berries up in the freezer before I buy more since they just happen to be on sale this week. In my freezer, I had a few blueberries and half a bag of mixed berries, including blueberries. I decided to use just the cherries and blueberries to make … Continue reading

Victoria Day Weekend – Toronto Activities and Events – 2017

Victoria Day Weekend

It’s the start of Victoria Day weekend, the  “unofficially” kick off to the start of summer and all the fun and adventures it has to offer. As a child, my long weekends and every weekend throughout the summer was spent in Wasaga Beach, where we had a trailer. We experienced so much as children, camping, swimming and making memories. As a parent, I want the same for my child. While we don’t have a trailer to visit, we plan on making our own memories in everything we do. If you are … Continue reading
