Apartment Building Security Guards leave Tenants Unsecured

Security Guards

We are supposed to feel safe, knowing our building has Security Guards patrolling the premises. Many do not.  The security guards don’t really do their job. Most times they are behind a locked closed-door. Should you happen to knock, they answer the door in a not so timely manner, like they were woken from a nap. Yes, they secure themselves but not the building. I definitely don’t feel secure with these apartment building Security Guards. Security Guards Duty There are many job descriptions for a security guard, but generally it … Continue reading

Remembrance Day vs Christmas

Remebrance Day vs Christmas

Now that November has arrived the debate begins, Remembrance Day vs Christmas.  Judgement begins towards those who choose Christmas. While most prefer to wait until after November 12,  some enjoy the holiday season and begin before the 11th. By starting the Christmas season early, people  are somehow being disrespectful to Veterans. That is just an opinion, there is no law. To disrespect someone is to act in an insulting way toward them. When you disrespect people, you think very little of them.   Respect is a way of treating or … Continue reading

Haunted Ontario – Spooked by Ghosts

Haunted-in-Ontario

Halloween is just around the corner, what would be more fun than checking out a real haunted house or building near you in Haunted Ontario spots. Have you ever seen a ghost or visited a place that is known to have ghosts or spirits? While I haven’t been to any spooky places, I have heard ghosts, whispering in the night, at a house that I was told had spirits. While I was a bit skeptical about sleeping in a house that possibly has some sort of spirit floating around, never … Continue reading

Haunted Walks Ottawa – Ghosts and Gallows – Carleton Jail

Haunted Walks - Carleton Jail

In April, I  was in Ottawa attending the BConnected Conference.  While the conference didn’t officially start until Saturday, a fun Friday was planned for those attendees who arrived on Friday. We had a choice of 2 different Haunted Walks, Ghosts and Gallows or Time Travel Trail Adventure with Ottawa Tourism. I choose to take the Ghosts and Gallows Walk that took us to the Carleton Jail. Although I had not been on a Haunted Walk, I have wanted to for some time. Excitement and nervousness took over. The wait for this creepy … Continue reading

Halloween Web Wreath

Web Wreath

This Halloween I decided to go with a spider theme, not sure why, since I don’t like spiders. When there are spiders, there are usually webs. Deciding to make a web wreath to go with the spiders created last week, was the perfect choice. I have a bin full of yarn and a cupboard full of supplies that I want to use up before replenishing my supplies. I have decided to begin some weekly projects, to do just that, starting with the yarn. Kids and Colds – Keeping the Cold Season Mild

colds

We are 3 weeks into the school year and my daughter has her first cold. It never fails, the same happened last year. It seemed like every other week she was sick last school year. All summer long she was fine, no colds at all; it begins all over again. I know when my daughter isn’t feeling well, it is the only time she is quiet.  She will be in the bedroom snuggled under her blanket. What is a Cold? A cold is a virus, caused by germs. A common cold … Continue reading
